Qualifications and Experience:

Valid North Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license or equivalent certification Demonstrated experience working with students with visual impairments preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to develop and adapt instructional materials and strategies for diverse learning needs Commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible educational setting

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments in a school environment Assess student needs and develop individualized educational plans (IEPs) Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to coordinate and implement accommodations and modifications Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and participate in meetings as part of the special education team Offer orientation and mobility skills training as appropriate to support student independence This contract position offers the consistency of a full-time, 37.5 hours per week schedule for the academic year, beginning as soon as possible through late spring 2027.
