Discovery School (Iredell Statesville School District) Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Exceptional Children (EC) / Special Education Teacher to provide individualized instruction and support to students with special needs. The teacher will work under the supervision of the School Principal to maximize each student's academic, social, behavioral, and daily-living development. The ideal candidate will have strong classroom management skills, experience developing and implementing IEPs, and a passion for helping students reach their full potential. Requirements & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Exceptional Children Education, or a related field. Valid state teaching license/certification in Special Education/Exceptional Children (EC) or eligibility for appropriate licensure. Previous experience working with students with special needs/disabilities preferred. Knowledge and experience with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) . Experience implementing individualized instruction and behavior management plans. Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices. Ability to conduct and interpret student assessments and evaluations. Excellent classroom management and organizational skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
