Aug 10, 2026 Job Description The Exceptional Children (EC) Teacher is responsible for providing specialized instruction and support services to students with disabilities in a middle school setting. The EC Teacher develops and implements Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborates with general education teachers, parents, and support staff, and ensures students receive appropriate accommodations and modifications to support academic, social, and emotional growth. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities. Provide direct instruction in individual, small-group, and inclusion settings. Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies. Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation of academic and behavioral performance. Conduct assessments and assist in the evaluation and eligibility process for special education services. Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings. Implement accommodations, modifications, and behavior intervention plans as required. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local special education laws and regulations. Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and school personnel regarding student progress. Utilize data to guide instructional decisions and improve student outcomes. Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or designee.
