Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a lasting impact as a Special Education Teacher in a middle school setting, supporting students with mild to moderate needs in a self-contained classroom. In this full-time contract role, you'll contribute to the educational and personal growth of 12 students during the 2026-2027 academic year. The school day runs from 7:15am to 3:15pm, Monday through Friday, providing a structured and rewarding schedule.
This opportunity offers two pathways:
EC Middle School Teacher and EC Intensive Needs Teacher. You'll become an essential resource, working closely with support staff and fellow educators to design engaging lessons that foster each student's success and independence.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Current Special Education licensure appropriate for middle school students Experience with individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress monitoring Skills in differentiation and adapting curriculum for varying abilities Passion for supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities Strong classroom management abilities and positive behavioral support techniques Effective communication with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Previous experience in a self-contained or EC classroom preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and track individualized education programs for each student Adapt instructional strategies to promote active learning and engagement Foster a supportive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff Monitor student progress and provide regular updates to families and staff Participate in professional development and contribute to team meetings As you guide and encourage students through challenges and milestones, you'll experience the professional fulfillment that comes from making a meaningful difference every day.
