Special Education Teacher - Elementary Resource Margaret Hearne Elementary School |
Wilson, NC Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and qualified Special Education Teacher - Elementary Resource to join Wilson County Schools for the 2026-2027 school year. This is an excellent opportunity for an educator who enjoys collaborating with school staff, supporting students with diverse learning needs, and making a meaningful impact in an elementary school setting. Two positions are available.

EC Licensure must be in hand at the time of submission Experience working with students with special education needs is preferred Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills Ability to work effectively with teachers, administrators, families, and support staff Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and support to elementary students with exceptional needs Develop and implement instruction aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as appropriate Collaborate with general education teachers and other school personnel Participate in required staff meetings Participate in IEP meetings and related student-support activities Maintain accurate documentation and student records Support students' academic, behavioral, social, and developmental goals Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
