Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI), supporting students across multiple districts through an Education Cooperative near Gering, NE. This contract role offers the chance to make a lasting difference for children with visual impairments. With a 1.4 FTE position for the 26/27 school year, you'll collaborate with special education professionals and engage in meaningful work from August 17, 2026.
Qualifications and Experience:
Certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) or eligibility for certification Previous experience working with students who are visually impaired is preferred Solid understanding of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive teaching methods Strong communication and collaboration skills Flexibility to work across a variety of educational settings and grade levels
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments in up to 15 partner districts Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored for visually impaired students Collaborate with classroom teachers and district staff to adapt curriculum and materials Assess student progress and recommend appropriate accommodations and technologies Offer consultation and training to teachers, staff, and families on best practices for supporting students with visual impairments Travel between school sites within the collaborative as needed This contract role is ideal for educators ready to broaden their professional impact, working across a diverse community of schools.
