Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract In this rewarding contract opportunity, you'll serve as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI), making a meaningful difference across an education cooperative supporting up to 15 districts in the Morrill, NE region. This 1.4 FTE position begins August 17, 2026, and is ideal for passionate educators with expertise in adapting instruction for students with visual impairments.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Visual Impairments (TVI) or eligibility to obtain Professional experience as a teacher for the visually impaired in a school-based setting preferred Ability to deliver both direct and consultative services to students, teachers, and support staff Strong communication skills to collaborate with families, multidisciplinary teams, and educational administrators Familiarity with braille instruction, assistive technology, and accessible instructional materials Demonstrated organizational skills to manage itinerant schedules across multiple locations
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments, individually and in small groups Assess students' functional vision and learning needs, developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify curriculum, adapt resources, and create accessible learning environments Deliver in-service training and professional development to district staff on best practices for supporting visually impaired learners Consult on and support the integration of assistive technology and orientation and mobility needs as appropriate Travel between partnering districts within the education co-op to ensure continuity of services Experience the professional fulfillment of working within a dynamic educational cooperative, enjoying supportive teamwork and the opportunity to positively impact numerous school communities.
