Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in a collaborative, contract-based opportunity supporting an education cooperative. This vital role services up to 15 districts, providing specialized instruction to students with visual impairments. As a 1.4 FTE position, you'll have the chance to put your expertise to work across a diverse and supportive network of educators and students. The assignment begins on August 17, 2026.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired Experience working with students who have varying degrees of visual impairment Strong understanding of individualized education program (IEP) processes and assistive technology Ability to travel between multiple district sites as needed Excellent communication and collaborative skills Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments in educational settings Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals tailored to each student's needs Support classroom teachers and staff with strategies and resources for accessibility and inclusion Conduct assessments to determine students' levels of functional vision, orientation and mobility, and academic needs Advocate for necessary accommodations and modifications to ensure student success Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings across districts Working as a TVI in this Education Co-op gives you exposure to a wide variety of learning environments and the ability to collaborate with professionals who share your dedication to student growth.
