Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students in a resource setting classroom for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This full-time position focuses on students in grades 1st through 4th, collaborating with a dedicated team of three case managers to foster growth, learning, and inclusion. Scheduled to begin August 31st, 2026 and continue through June 17th, 2027, there may also be possibilities to participate in pre- or post-planning sessions. Your role will involve managing a caseload of approximately 15-20 students, with strong support from 1:1 paraprofessionals and behavior analysts within the classroom. Emphasis is placed on both direct instruction and push-in support, crafting individualized plans and working closely with educators, families, and specialists to cultivate successful outcomes for a diverse range of learners.
Desired qualifications:
Active New Hampshire Educator Teaching Certification Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher supporting 1st-4th grade students Knowledge of developing, implementing, and reviewing IEPs Strong communication skills for collaboration with colleagues, families, and outside agencies Adaptability, compassion, and commitment to fostering a positive learning environment Key responsibilities: Plan and deliver differentiated instruction tailored to students' IEP goals Monitor student progress and document growth or concerns Collaborate with a team of educational professionals, including paraprofessionals and behavior analysts Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations Engage in parent-teacher meetings and participate in professional development opportunities Take this chance to positively impact students' journeys while collaborating within an encouraging and resource-rich environment.
