Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Seeking a dedicated Special Education professional to support high school students in a contract role. This position is ideal for an educator passionate about fostering an inclusive learning environment and committed to making a genuine impact in the classroom. You'll collaborate with colleagues, develop individualized instruction, and ensure every student has the tools and encouragement they need to succeed.
Key Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification in Special Education Prior experience as a Special Education teacher at the high school level Strong understanding of IEP development, modification, and implementation Ability to effectively communicate with students, families, and school staff Strong organizational skills and adaptability in dynamic classroom settings Commitment to supporting diverse learning needs and promoting student growth Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
Design and deliver differentiated instruction tailored to student IEPs Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to create inclusive classrooms Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student performance, goals, and progress Monitor, document, and report on student achievement and behavioral data Lead or participate in IEP meetings and help update education plans as needed Provide guidance and mentorship that empowers each student's learning journey Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations regarding special education Experience the professional satisfaction of helping students reach their full potential in a supportive school environment.
