Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification. Demonstrated success in developing and implementing IEPs. Experience collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families. Strong skills in adaptive curriculum design and differentiated instruction. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities. Empathy, patience, and a commitment to educational equity.
Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and small group instruction tailored to the diverse needs of students with disabilities. Develop, update, and monitor the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), maintaining compliance with all state and federal regulations. Assess student progress regularly, adapting strategies to optimize outcomes. Work in partnership with classroom teachers to modify general education curriculum when needed. Document ongoing student data, progress reports, and provide recommendations during IEP meetings. Serve as a resource for students, parents, and staff regarding special needs and accommodations. Foster a safe, positive, and respectful classroom atmosphere that promotes learning and self-advocacy.
