Key Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching certification (required) Demonstrated experience working with high school students in special education settings Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Ability to adapt instruction and classroom management strategies to diverse learning needs
Core Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver specialized instruction aligned with IEP goals and state standards Create a positive, engaging classroom environment that meets individual student needs Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and related service providers Conduct ongoing assessments and utilize data to inform instruction and monitor student progress Maintain detailed and timely documentation for compliance and student records Communicate proactively with parents and guardians regarding student growth, challenges, and successes Foster student independence, self-advocacy, and confidence both academically and socially
