This full-time, contract opportunity for the 26/27 school year welcomes passionate special education teachers eager to make a difference in the lives of students on the Autism Spectrum. As a valued professional, you'll work in a collaborative school environment near Edison, NJ, using your expertise to cultivate meaningful learning experiences and personal growth for each child.
Qualifications:
Valid New Jersey Teaching License with Students with Disabilities endorsement required Previous experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder strongly preferred Background in elementary special education settings is a plus Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to adapt instructional strategies to individual student needs Commitment to fostering an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment
Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and group instruction within an elementary autism classroom Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to each student's unique goals Utilize evidence-based practices and behavioral interventions to promote positive outcomes Work closely with related services staff, paraprofessionals, and families Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and data collection Support social, emotional, and academic growth for all students Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development as required This contract position provides a chance to enrich your professional skills while working alongside a supportive staff.
