Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in the lives of elementary students by working as a Special Education Teacher in an autism classroom just outside of Plainfield, NJ, near Irvington. This full-time contract position for the 26/27 school year offers you the opportunity to play a vital role in shaping a nurturing, supportive environment where students with Autism Spectrum Disorder can thrive.
Key Qualifications:
New Jersey Teaching License with a Students with Disabilities endorsement is required Previous experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder strongly preferred Ability to implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and adapt curriculum to diverse learning needs Strong classroom management and organizational skills in an elementary setting Compassion, patience, and commitment to fostering student growth

Deliver engaging instruction in a specialized autism classroom for elementary-aged students Develop and implement tailored lesson plans to support individual learning goals and social skills development Work collaboratively with paraprofessionals, support staff, and specialists to ensure a cohesive, supportive environment Maintain clear communication with parents and caregivers on student progress and needs Document progress toward IEP goals and make data-driven instructional decisions Perks of the
