Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting students with special needs in a dynamic educational environment near Jersey City, NJ! This full-time contract position offers the chance to collaborate with a dedicated team and help shape positive outcomes for your students every day. As a Special Education Teacher, your role will focus on delivering quality instruction while also taking on the critical responsibility of conducting educational evaluations and managing a diverse caseload.
Key Qualifications:
Valid NJ Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant Certification required Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher (in school settings strongly preferred) Strong ability to conduct comprehensive educational evaluations and document findings efficiently Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills Comfortable managing a caseload of 30-40 students with varied needs Ability to adapt instructional approaches to support different learning styles and abilities
Role Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough educational assessments to support students' individualized education plans (IEPs) Manage a caseload of 30-40 students, monitoring progress and updating documentation as required Develop and implement effective instructional strategies tailored to each student's needs Collaborate closely with other specialists, general educators, and families to ensure optimal support Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal-setting and planning Maintain accurate records and comply with all state and district regulations Flexible schedule: Work Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, with occasional 4:30 pm days during the initial six weeks.
