Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A rewarding opportunity awaits for an experienced Special Education Teacher passionate about supporting elementary students' growth. This contract position runs from August 31, 2026, through June 17, 2027, conveniently located near Jersey City, NJ. The full-time schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:45am to 4:00pm. Working with 2nd and 3rd graders, you'll deliver targeted ELA and Math Out of Class Resource (OCR) instruction, while also providing additional push-in support for select 1st and 2nd grade students.
Key Qualifications:
Active DOE Certification required Proven experience with ELA and Math content at the elementary level Demonstrated success in classroom management and innovative instructional practices Previous history as a Special Education Teacher, especially in Grades 1-3, preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills with educators and staff Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for all learners
Your Responsibilities:
Develop and implement effective lessons in ELA and Math tailored to diverse learning needs Manage a caseload of students, providing individualized instruction and progress monitoring Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and staff for push-in and resource support Maintain detailed documentation and regular communication with families regarding student growth Adhere to IEP requirements and track student progress toward goals Engage students with positive reinforcement and proactive behavior strategies As part of this opportunity, you'll enjoy a pay rate of $39-43/hour along with weekly paychecks, comprehensive healthcare benefits including health, vision, and dental coverage, and 401k support options.
