This role is ideal for an educator who believes that strong relationships, emotional safety, and understanding individual differences are the foundation for meaningful academic and social growth.
Qualifications:
Valid New Jersey Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) certification K-6 Elementary certification Experience working with adolescents with learning and developmental differences Strong skills in building trusting relationships with students Experience with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring Familiarity with
NJ Student Learning Standards Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver individualized instruction aligned with students' developmental profiles and IEP goals Create a classroom environment that supports regulation, engagement, and positive peer relationships Use flexible, responsive teaching strategies that meet students where they are developmentally Collaborate closely with therapists, support staff, administrators, and families as part of an interdisciplinary team Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to holistic, child-centered planning Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with NJDOE requirements
