Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Bring your expertise as a Special Education professional to an impactful contract opportunity supporting students' academic and developmental success. This full-time position offers 40 hours per week, with daily hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Occasional later afternoons (until 4:30 p.m.) may be required during the first six weeks, while Fridays sometimes allow for earlier release times. In this role, you will lead the charge in educational evaluations and oversee a caseload of 30-40 students, making a direct difference in their educational journey. Your specialized knowledge as a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant is essential, as your insights and expertise will play a crucial part in tailoring learning experiences for each child.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Valid NJ Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant Certification (required) Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher or in a similar consultative capacity within school settings Comfort with conducting comprehensive educational evaluations and assessments Strong organizational skills for managing caseloads and documentation Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and students
Primary Responsibilities:
Complete thorough educational evaluations for students, utilizing a variety of assessment tools Manage and support a caseload of 30-40 students, ensuring individualized education plans (IEPs) are followed Conduct additional evaluations as needed, ensuring compliance with district and state requirements Work closely with school staff and families to implement best practices and support student growth Maintain accurate and confidential records for all assigned students This role is designed for dedicated professionals seeking dynamic school experiences and the chance to make a meaningful contribution to students' growth.
