Job Description

Position:
Special Education Teacher - Middle School -
Leave Replacement Position Overview:
Ridgewood Public Schools is seeking a Special Education leave replacement teacher at George Washington Middle School.
The ideal candidate will:
Understand data-informed instructional practices and progress monitoring Demonstrate the ability to effectively co-plan and co-teach within an inclusive classroom setting Have knowledge of differentiated instruction, accommodations, and modifications to support diverse learners Demonstrated knowledge of inclusive special education practices and instructional supports Possess behavior management training and skills Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills Demonstrate independent initiative with his/her professional growth Effectively communicate with teachers, parents, and administrators both verbally and in writing Work collaboratively and have experience maintaining harmonious relationships with students, colleagues and parents.
Working Conditions:
Full-time, permanent position, medical benefits and pension. Salary range is $70,062-$125,242, commensurate with education and experience as per negotiated contract.
Start Date:
August 26, 2026 and
End Date:
December 11, 2026. Plus 3 days of New Teacher Orientation in August.

Other Requirements:
NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities or Teacher of the Handicapped Certification NJ K-12 or 5-8 Content Certification required; English or Social Studies preferred Experience working with students with disabilities in both inclusion and resource settings in grades 6-8
