We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher with a valid New Jersey Department of Education (NJ DOE) certification to join our dynamic educational team. In this role, you will develop and implement tailored instructional plans that meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities, including those with autism, developmental disabilities, visual impairments, and other special needs. Your energy and expertise will foster an inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Duties Design and deliver individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with state standards and tailored to each student's unique learning profile. Implement evidence-based teaching strategies such as applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavioral therapy, speech therapy techniques, and music therapy to support student progress. Develop engaging curriculum materials that incorporate learning technology, literacy education, math instruction, and early childhood development principles. Manage classroom behavior through effective classroom management techniques, promoting a positive and safe learning environment for children with diverse needs. Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, counselors, and other specialists to coordinate comprehensive support services. Monitor student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and ongoing data collection; adjust instructional approaches accordingly. Maintain detailed documentation of student activities, progress reports, IEP meetings, and communication with parents or guardians. Qualifications Valid NJ DOE certification as a Special Education Teacher is required. Demonstrated experience working with children with disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, visual impairments, or other special needs. Strong knowledge of curriculum development for early childhood education, preschool experience, and preschool experience is preferred. Proficiency in learning technology tools and instructional design methods to enhance student engagement. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Experience in classroom management strategies tailored for children with behavioral health or behavioral management needs. Background in literacy education, math instruction, physical education teaching, recreational therapy or related areas is advantageous.
