In this role, you will provide specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of young learners with disabilities, fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. Your expertise will help students develop essential skills in literacy, math, communication, and social-emotional growth, ensuring they reach their full potential. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with diverse learning needs while collaborating closely with families and support staff. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, aligning lesson plans with state standards and curriculum goals. Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction across core subjects such as literacy education, math, and social skills tailored to students' developmental levels. Manage a self-contained classroom environment that promotes positive behavior management and effective classroom management strategies. Conduct ongoing assessments, including standardized testing and progress monitoring, to evaluate student growth and inform instructional adjustments. Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral health specialists, and other support staff to integrate speech therapy, behavioral therapy, and early intervention strategies into daily lessons. Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, IEP goals, behavioral incidents, and communication logs to ensure compliance and transparency. Foster strong relationships with students by mentoring, providing emotional support, and encouraging social-emotional development through targeted interventions. Skills Proven experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, or other special needs in a classroom setting. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices. Excellent communication skills for effectively collaborating with colleagues, families, and specialists. Expertise in curriculum development tailored for K-2 learners with disabilities; including literacy education and math instruction. Skilled in behavioral management techniques and behavior health strategies to promote positive classroom behavior. Ability to adapt lessons for diverse learning styles using tools such as Montessori or preschool methodologies when appropriate.
