Many students arrive at Del Rio Academy after facing challenges in traditional academic settings. We are the private, non-public school for the students who attend The Sandhill Center. We are located about 30 minutes south of the Albuquerque airport in a rural New Mexico valley. Our charming southwestern ranch homes provide living space for as many as thirty-two boys and girls. The peaceful, rural setting offers an ideal environment in which to foster a child's physical, emotional and behavioral health. These classic New Mexican properties include horse stables, riding arena, basketball courts, a tennis court, and a swimming pool. Del Rio Academy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate K-8 Teacher or Special Education Teacher to provide individualized educational services within a therapeutic, structured environment for students with special education needs. This role blends academic instruction with social-emotional support, requiring collaboration with clinical teams, families, and Local Education Agencies (LEAs). The ideal candidate is committed to helping students grow academically, behaviorally, and emotionally in a supportive, flexible learning setting.
