Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Qualifications & Experience:
Hold a valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education Experience working with children or adolescents in a school environment Strong knowledge of current educational strategies and individualized education plans (IEPs) Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication methods used by D/HH students Ability to adapt instruction and materials to meet students' diverse needs Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Commitment to fostering an accessible, supportive classroom environment
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to students who are Deaf or hard of hearing Provide direct instruction, support, and advocacy for students across various grade levels Collaborate closely with general education teachers, speech pathologists, and families Monitor student progress and adjust educational strategies as needed Participate in the IEP process, contributing valuable insight regarding student goals and accommodations Utilize educational technology and visual aids to enhance learning experiences Advocate for accessibility and inclusion within the school community
