Job Description
What You Need Minimum Job Requirements:
Advanced experience applying and interpreting ESH regulatory requirements (DOE, OSHA, EPA, DOT, and related standards) Extensive experience delivering classroom and hands-on training in high-hazard or highly regulated environments (e.g., nuclear, industrial, construction, manufacturing) Demonstrated expertise in evaluating trainee performance, including qualification and certification readiness Proven ability to independently develop, implement, and improve training programs aligned with regulatory and operational requirements Strong ability to communicate complex technical and safety requirements across diverse audiences Experience applying Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles to training, learning from events, and continuous improvement Demonstrated ability to mentor instructors and influence training quality and consistency across programs Ability to work effectively in both classroom and operational/field environmentsEducation/Experience :
Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 10 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.Desired Qualifications:
Professional safety certification (e.g., Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)) DOE or nuclear industry training and qualification credentials (e.g., DOE Instructor Qualification or facility-specific qualification programs) OSHA Outreach Trainer or other relevant regulatory training certifications Certification or formal training in instructional design or performance-based training (e.g., ATD CPTD, Systematic Approach to Training (SAT)) Process improvement or program management certification (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt or PMP)Work Schedule:
This position supports 24/7 mission operations and requires flexibility to deliver training during evenings and weekends based on operational needs. Shift/weekend assignments are at the discretion of the manager.Work Location:
The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.Position commitment:
Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
