Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract A school in Sandia Park, NM is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join their team on a contract basis. This role focuses on supporting high school students with special education needs, providing inclusive education within the general education setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a special education caseload, tailoring instruction to meet the diverse needs of high school students. Collaborate with general education teachers to facilitate inclusion and ensure students access the general curriculum. Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress. Implement evidence-based strategies to support students' academic, social, and behavioral growth. Communicate regularly with students, families, and staff to promote student success.
Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification. Experience working with high school students in an inclusive classroom setting. Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and inclusive teaching practices. Ability to differentiate instruction and use various assessment tools. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
