Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Special Education teacher certified to teach elementary and middle school to join our team at Newfane Middle School. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in differentiated instruction and the ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students, including those with diverse learning needs. The teacher will utilize innovative behavior management strategies that promote positive student engagement and a growth mindset, fostering resilience and academic success. Additionally, the candidate will be trauma-informed and skilled in creating personalized learning plans that address each student's social, emotional, and academic needs, ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive. The anticipated assignment will be as a Consultant Teacher.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with New York State learning standards. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students. Create a supportive and structured classroom environment that encourages student engagement and curiosity. Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments and provide constructive feedback. Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and support staff to enhance student achievement and well-being. Integrate technology and innovative instructional strategies into lessons to support student learning. Establish strong relationships with students, parents, and the school community.
