Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Make a difference in the lives of students by providing specialized instructional support to those who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity is available for the 2026-2027 school year, working closely with an engaged educational community. You'll have the chance to tailor your expertise to meet evolving caseload needs as further details become available.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Certification and/or license as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH) or related field required Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in educational settings Knowledge of communication modalities including sign language, cued speech, and auditory-oral methods Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families Strong skills in adapting curriculum and instructional strategies for accessibility and individualized learning Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct and consultative services to students with hearing impairments Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs Support students' language, academic, and social-emotional development within mainstream classrooms Advocate for students by collaborating on accommodations, modifications, and classroom inclusivity Participate in IEP meetings, provide progress reports, and maintain accurate records in accordance with regulatory guidelines Stay current with best practices, technologies, and resources for Deaf/Hard of Hearing education Benefit from a contract assignment that allows professional focus within a supportive school environment.
