For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Chair (Teacher on Special Assignment) The Greenwood Lake Union Free School District is seeking candidates for a Teacher on
Special Assignment:
CPSE/CSE
Chairperson and 504 Coordinator position. The
CSE/CPSE
Chair will implement and maintain all procedures relevant to the
CSE/CPSE/504
process, ensure all students receive necessary evaluations and accommodations, and work with PPS clerical staff to prepare agendas, and schedule meetings in accordance with the law. This position will also facilitate special education data collection and confirm data accuracy for the district, federal and state reporting. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a history of a collaborative, positive, productive rapport with fellow teachers, staff members, and administrators.
Certification:
NYS Certification as a Special Education Teacher, School Psychologist or other closely related field (required);

Certificate of Completion:
Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE)/Committee on Special Education (CSE)
Chairperson Training Term of Employment:
10 months, plus summer work TBD at a daily rate of pay; salary & benefits in accordance with the
GLTA Contract Job Start Date:
September 1, 2026, or as mutually agreed upon between the District and the final candidate
Job Qualifications Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5 years of successful work experience in a school district special education and/or related setting Knowledge and thorough understanding of
CPSE/CSE/504
guidelines and regulations as related to General and Special Education services Experience with psychological and educational testing and evaluations Ability to problem solve and work effectively with all stakeholders; faculty, families, community and various outside schools and agencies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (oral, written and digital) Experience as a
CPSE/CSE
Chairperson and/or 504 Coordinator (preferred)
