Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Per Diem Teacher - Adolescents St. Vincent's Westchester Hospital, A Division of Saint Joseph's Medical Center - 3.0 Harrison, NY Job Details Part-time $38.25 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Teaching Certification Master's degree Full Job Description St. Vincent's Hospital Westchester, a premier behavioral health hospital in Harrison, NY has a per diem position available for a teacher who provides educational tutoring and support for adolescent patients ages 13-18 within a hospital setting. This position requires appropriate documentation, instructing patients with necessary course materials and furnishing educational guidance. Educational reports will be presented and participation in meetings with clinical and teaching staff is required. At least three years of prior teaching experience in relevant subject areas is required. The individual will possess the ability to assess and tutor adolescents with mental health and behavioral difficulties as well as with substance use disorder diagnoses. Teaching certification is required. Hours will vary Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 11:30 am.
