Job Description City School District of New Rochelle Embracing Diversity:
Driving Success The City School District of New Rochelle is seeking a Middle School Special Education Teacher for our 8:1:2 ABA program. The successful candidate must have appropriate NYS Special Education Teacher Certification for grades 6-8 and experience working with children with Autism and related disabilities. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities include:
Utilize principles of ABA including reinforcement systems, task analysis, prompting hierarchies, discrete trial instruction, and data collection.
Application of the principles of ABA across all domains, including academic, communication, social and behavioral.
Provide individualized instruction to all students and collect data analyzing student progress.
Work closely with Behavior Intervention Specialists to design and analyze behavioral and academic data note objectives for each student.
Carry out and maintain all instructional aspects of a student's IEP.
Implement behavior intervention plans.
Maintain accurate records including progress monitoring data, behavioral documentation, IEP progress reports, and communication logs.
Utilize assistive technology, visual supports, sensory supports, and augmentative communication systems as appropriate for student needs.
Collaborate with related service providers and consultants
Manage classroom staff including teaching assistant and classroom aide
