Job Description City School District of New Rochelle Embracing Diversity:
Driving Success The New Rochelle City School District is seeking Secondary Special Education Teachers for our 8:1:2/12:1:2 ABA/Life Skills program. Successful candidates must have NYS Teacher Certification and experience working with children with Autism and related disabilities. Bi-lingual applicants are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities include:
Delivery of Specially Designed instruction as aligned with district-wide Life Skills Curriculum. Application of the principles of ABA across all domains, including academic, communication, social and behavioral. Conducting individualized criterion-referenced inventories of behavior repertoires (assessments) for all students on an annual basis. Provide individualized instruction to all students with a minimum per student and measures, graphs, and analyzes all students' progress on all IEP objectives daily. Analyzes student progress on a daily or moment to moment basis and working closely with Behavior Intervention Specialist to design phase and change and note objectives for each student. Work with Behavior Intervention Specialist on the development of curricula and behavior procedures to be followed in the class Carrying out and maintaining all instructional aspects of a student's IEP. Completing progress reports and Annual Review reports for the IEP's. Delivering classroom instructional programs and adjusting based on the needs of the students. Collaborate with peers and support staff. Attend all departmental meetings and trainings. Maintaining a classroom environment that is conducive to instruction. Job Qualifications NYS Certification is required at time of application.
