Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a significant impact working as a Special Education Teacher with a focus on supporting pre-school students during the extended school year (ESY) session. This contract opportunity is conveniently scheduled Monday through Thursday, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, running from June 1st through July 2nd. The position centers on delivering vital compensatory services, contributing to student growth and ensuring each child receives the support they deserve.
Key Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher Experience working with pre-school or early childhood populations preferred Familiarity with compensatory education and extended school year (ESY) services Strong communication skills to collaborate with support staff, students, and families Flexibility and a positive attitude to adapt to diverse learning needs Ability to develop individualized education plans and adjust teaching strategies as required
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and support tailored to the unique needs of each pre-school student Implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and monitor student progress Work closely with speech-language pathologists (SLPs), paraprofessionals, and other team members Communicate regularly with families to update on progress and address questions or concerns Maintain accurate documentation of sessions, student goals, and service delivery Create an engaging, inclusive classroom environment that fosters growth and confidence Experience the satisfaction of supporting young learners as they reach their milestones during this focused summer program.
