Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year! This contract opportunity runs from August 17th through May 28th and offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. You'll work in a vibrant K-8 setting, guiding and empowering students through a resource caseload, making a positive impact in their academic journey.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching certification (appropriate for K-8) Experience working with resource caseloads strongly preferred Solid understanding of individualized education plan (IEP) processes and compliance Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and families Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Positive attitude with a student-centered approach
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and support tailored to the academic and behavioral goals outlined in students' IEPs Develop, implement, and monitor lesson plans and instructional strategies Work closely with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and provide accommodations Liaise with families and multidisciplinary teams to foster student growth Track progress and maintain thorough documentation in alignment with school and state requirements Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment This is an outstanding opportunity to shape young lives while collaborating with talented staff in a supportive educational community.
