Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic educational environment supporting K-8 students as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year! This full-time contract opportunity runs from August 17th through May 28th, offering you the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of exceptional learners. You'll work closely with students on a resource caseload, helping them achieve their fullest academic and social potential.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid Special Education Teaching credential Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Special Education or a related field Previous experience supporting K-8 students, especially in resource settings Strong knowledge of IEP development and progress monitoring Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Ability to adapt lessons and materials to a variety of learning needs
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide targeted instruction and support to K-8 students with diverse needs Develop, implement, and maintain Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and plans Maintain organized records and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment focused on student growth This role offers the flexibility of a school-year contract with 37.5 hours per week, ensuring you can provide consistent support while maintaining work-life balance.
