Job Description

School Overview:

Primary Job Functions:
The Intervention Specialist is responsible for special education instruction and services and may provide additional intervention to students not identified for special education services as needed. The Intervention Specialist must be knowledgeable and proactively stay up to date on all laws pertaining to special education, including but not limited to IDEA. The Intervention Specialist is required to adhere to all regulations outlined in "Operating Standards for Ohio Educational Agencies Serving Children with Disabilities." Primary responsibilities include: Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations Provide direct, specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs across grade levels Differentiate curriculum and adapt instructional materials to meet individual student goals Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure appropriate accommodations, modifications, and inclusive practices Conduct ongoing assessments and progress monitoring to inform instruction and support student growth Maintain accurate and compliant documentation, including IEPs, progress reports, and evaluation data Serve as case manager for assigned students, coordinating services and leading IEP and evaluation team meetings Communicate effectively and consistently with parents/guardians regarding student progress and supports Oversee, supervise, and support instructional aides and paraprofessionals providing services to students, including assigning tasks, modeling instructional strategies, and ensuring effective implementation of supports Support students during state and local assessments, including administering required accommodations Ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and school/district policies and procedures Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute positively to the school community
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must hold a current Ohio intervention specialist license or be in the process of obtaining a license. All candidates must be able to pass various background checks as well as complete the Diocese of Toledo "Protection of Youth Program" if hired.
Salary and Benefits:
