Job Description
Job Summary Responsible to provide a nurturing, supportive environment for each infant and toddler by means of a daily schedule of activities which support each child's individual temperament and home routine. Responsible to follow all Head Start Performance Standards and Ohio Childcare Licensing Regulations, Early Head Start program plans, policies and procedures to ensure infants and toddlers are in a positive, healthy environment. Responsible to promote activities that strengthen the parent-child bond. Responsible to participate in all team meetings and parent partnership agreement conferences. Duties Abide by the standards of conduct as outlined in the Head Start Performance Standards that ensure that all children are treated with dignity and respect and that no child is maltreated or has their health and safety endangered. Meet the needs of all children; including those who are at risk, those with special needs, those who are gifted, and those who are culturally diverse. Establish a safe, healthy, and nurturing atmosphere with constructive discipline procedures while maintaining a daily routine conducive to optimal growth and development of children. Sets learning goals and plans learning experiences by integrating knowledge of each child's temperament, interests, gender, culture, language, learning approaches, understanding, misconceptions, and abilities and by working collaboratively with families and a range of specialists (e.g., medical, dental, speech, nutrition, mental health) Collaborate with families to share progress updates, provide guidance on child welfare practices, and support early intervention strategies when necessary. Maintain detailed documentation of each child's development milestones, attendance, and classroom activities in compliance with program requirements. Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities related to special education, Montessori methods, or other relevant early childhood teaching approaches. Education and/or Experience Associates degree in Early Childhood Education/Development or Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education/Development Minimum of Infant/Toddler CDA Starting wage: Associates degree: $18.28 Bachelors degree $20.12 Benefits health, life, long term disability, 401-K retirement plan, accrued sick leave and vacation, and holiday pay.
