This position will involve working closely with students, staff, and families to develop and implement individualized interventions and educational plans that enhance the academic, social, and behavioral growth of students with autism. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children with special needs and a strong commitment to creating a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with autism, ensuring that goals and objectives are clear, measurable, and aligned with state standards. Provide direct instruction and behavioral support to students with autism both individually and in small groups. Use evidence-based strategies and interventions to support students' social, emotional, academic, and communication development. Collaborate with support staff and administrators to create inclusive and supportive learning environments for students with ASD. Implement behavior management techniques to promote positive student behavior and social interactions. Regularly assess and track students' progress toward IEP goals, adjusting instruction and interventions as needed. Provide ongoing communication with parents, guardians, and other team members regarding student progress, challenges, and successes. Serve as a resource for staff and families by providing guidance and training on autism spectrum disorder and best practices for supporting students with autism. Assist with the integration of students into general education settings when appropriate, ensuring they have access to necessary accommodations and supports. Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and interventions in compliance with school policies and state regulations. Attend professional development workshops and participate in team meetings to continuously improve knowledge and skills in the field of autism and special education.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education. Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist license. Knowledge and experience in working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, including familiarity with evidence-based interventions such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), TEACCH, and other autism-specific strategies. Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students with autism reach their full potential. Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality while fostering positive relationships with all stakeholders. Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development related to autism and special education.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience in a school setting working with children with autism. Familiarity with Ohio's state standards and regulations for special education services.
