MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelor's degree
Experience:
Must have expertise applicable to the assigned educational program. This class requires a high degree of knowledge, skill, and experience in the construction industry. Work experience in construction skills, trade, or vacations to be taught is required
Knowledge:
Knowledge of building construction trades practices. Knowledge in Building standards, construction drawings, health and safety procedures and equipment operation.
Skills:
Skill to instruct students in assigned areas of building and construction.
Trade and career development:
to effectively plan, develop, and Implement programs related to assignment; skills to effectively Communicate orally and in writing, and understand and interpret Laws and regulations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Commits to training & certification through the Home Builders Institute (HBI) Commits to implementation of Home Builders Institute (HBI) National Standards Instructs students in assigned technical/vocational area(s) and career development skills. Maintains students' awareness of industries' employment needs and requirements. Assists students in acquiring industry certifications. Assists students in securing internships and job shadowing experiences Instructs students in appropriate entry-level job-seeking and retention skills. Establishes and maintains a well-disciplined and orderly controlled classroom learning environment. Observes and evaluates students' work site performance. Establishes and maintains safety policies and procedures for classroom and work sites. Evaluates students. Monitors performance by assessing needs, testing skills and knowledge, and then communicating results to students. Develops, updates, and maintains students' training. Communicates effectively with students, administrators, parents, and staff concerning students' progress and program needs; evaluates, selects, develops, and adapts appropriate instructional materials. Promotes student and communitywide awareness of the program and recruits students. Guides students in making career-related decisions. May assist in selecting, supervising, and evaluating assigned instructional assistants. Maintains and updates professional skills as appropriate for industry awareness and community involvement related to successfully performing required duties.
ESSENTIAL BEHAVIOR
Ability to use sound judgment in any situation. Must be able to respond rapidly and appropriately to needs of students. Must build harmonious rapport and work cooperatively with administrators, site staff, students and parents.
ATTENDANCE STATEMENT
Able to be in attendance as contracted and for extra duties as assigned per district policy.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Work may occur in cramped, dirty/dusty, cold, or hot conditions. Safety must be considered when dealing with electricity, flammable fuel lines, and CFC chemicals. HVAC/Plumbing/electrical technicians may have to fish wires or pipes through existing constructions. Respiratory precautions may also be taken because of exposure to dust, refrigeration/plumbing chemicals, and possibly asbestos in older buildings. Position requires the performance of duties in wet, humid, hot, and cold conditions (non-weather), work near moving mechanical parts in enclosed area
PHYSICAL STANDARDS
Standing in place for long periods Significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling is required The ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 80 lbs for 50 feet is required Requires the ability to climb ladders Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling Walking as required to access equipment and perform responsibilities Climbing and balancing Talking and hearing to communicate concerning job-related duties as assigned
