In this role, you will create an inclusive and supportive learning environment tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities and developmental challenges. Your expertise will help foster academic growth, social-emotional development, and independence for each student. You will collaborate closely with families, therapists, and other educators to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and implement effective teaching strategies that promote success. Responsibilities Develop and implement customized lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and individual student needs, including literacy, math, speech therapy, and behavioral management strategies Conduct assessments to identify students' strengths, challenges, and goals, utilizing standardized testing and observational data Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create, review, and update IEPs for each student, ensuring compliance with legal requirements Adapt instructional materials and classroom activities to accommodate students with autism, hearing impairments such as deaf education needs, or other developmental disabilities Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement techniques and behavioral therapy strategies to foster a safe and productive learning environment Provide direct instruction in early childhood education settings, preschool programs, or private school environments utilizing Montessori or other specialized pedagogies Support students' social-emotional development through mentoring, communication skills training, and behavioral health interventions Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, attendance, and behavioral incidents for reporting purposes Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, special education practices, and classroom management techniques Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Childhood Development, Early Childhood Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred Valid teaching certification/license for special education or relevant state credentials Proven classroom experience working with children with disabilities or developmental delays in diverse settings such as preschools or private schools Strong knowledge of curriculum development for literacy education, math instruction, behavioral health strategies, and standardized testing procedures Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), hearing impairments (deaf education), or other specialized needs including early intervention programs Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, therapists, and colleagues Ability to develop individualized lesson plans that incorporate speech therapy techniques and behavioral management approaches Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation requirements Passion for mentoring students and fostering inclusive learning environments that promote independence and confidence Join us in shaping the future of children by providing inspiring educational experiences tailored to their unique abilities.
