To the maximum extent possible, work within a special education or regular classroom environment to provide smal group instruction and/or collaboration and/or co-teaching, with assigned regular education teachers, to provide modifications and accommodations per students' IEPs; responsible for managing a student IEP caseload; when required, shall design and implement small group to individualized instruction per students' IEPs; consistently establishes effective rapport with students by use of research-based intervention techniques; responsible for working effectively with a team comprised of paraprofessionals, teachers, administrators, parents and central office staff with the purpose of providing quality educational services for each and every student, each and every day, without exception.Minimum Qualifications/Job Requirements:
Education:
• Bachelors' degree required Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc: • Oklahoma Teaching Certification in Mild/Moderate or Severe/Profound Special Education and Elementary EducationEssential Job Functions:
Teaches specially designed curriculum to students in the classroom, using standards adopted by the Oklahoma State Department of Education and Sapulpa's Board of Education and any other appropriate learning activities as supported by the district/site administration. Actively participates in integrating technology resources into the curriculum for student learning. Develops and implements IEPs by maintaining a compliance rating of 100% consistent with district requirements. Develops lesson plans and instructional materials to provide individualized and small group instruction in accordance with student goals and objectives as outlined in the IEP. Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others, demonstrate self-discipline and initiative, follow state and district guidelines. Routinely communicates with regular education teachers in regards to specific IEP needs of students within regular classroom environments. Works effectively with a team of paraprofessionals, teachers, administrators, parents, and district administrators with the purpose of providing quality educational services for each student. Establishes rapport with pupils and provides a pleasant, safe, and orderly climate conducive to learning. Establishes standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom. Completes documentation and charting required to measure progress on student IEPs and prepare progress reports. Routinely communicates with regular education teachers in regards to specific IEP needs of students within regular classroom environments. Evaluates students academic and social growth and keeps appropriate records. Communicates with parents through a variety of ways to discuss student progress and interpret the school program. Interacts with students, staff and parents in a positive and professional manner. Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and self-selected professional growth activities. Participate and complete yearly de-escalation training to promote positive interactions with students. Other duties as assigned by the site administrator(s).Working Conditions:
