Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make a lasting impact by supporting students who are visually impaired, guiding them toward independence and success in an inclusive educational setting. With full-time hours and travel to multiple locations within the district, your expertise will be essential for students across varied learning environments. This contract opportunity is ideal for an educator passionate about fostering accessibility and tailored instruction for learners with visual impairments.
Key Qualifications:
State certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) or eligibility for relevant licensure Experience developing and adapting curriculum for K-12 students with visual impairments Proficiency in Braille instruction and assistive technology Outstanding communication and collaboration skills with students, teachers, and families Flexibility to travel to different school sites within the district as needed Commitment to inclusive education and advancing equitable learning for all students
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, individually and in groups Assess students' functional vision and educational needs; contribute to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Adapt classroom materials and activities to be accessible for visually impaired students Train school staff and caregivers on best practices, resources, and assistive technology integration Maintain up-to-date documentation on student progress and IEP goals Serve as a resource for faculty and participate in multidisciplinary planning This full-time contract spans approximately 37.5-40 hours per week, starting in mid-to-late August and concluding in late May or early June.
