Job Description

Summit Equine is preparing for the busy 2026 breeding season! Come join an inviting and driven team of professionals servicing our clients in the Pacific Northwest! The position of Equine Care Specialist is essential to the seasonal demands of a large-scale Equine Veterinary Practice. Here at Summit Equine, we specialize in Equine Reproduction and Sports Medicine services. If you have a background in equine care and previous experience handling stallions, mares and foals

While working with horses daily, you will thrive in a fast-paced daily workflow that is focused on efficiency and quality work. Duties include and are not limited to: Attentive day-to-day care of the patients in-house Preparation for arrivals and departures Adhering to biosecurity measures Weekly chores Operation of our panel walker Maintaining the cleanliness of the barn and workspaces We deliver quality care to our patients with regimented daily turnout, feeding, administering medications, blanketing, grooming and bathing. As an Equine Care Specialist, you will have the opportunity to: Work alongside professionals who specialize in advanced equine breeding techniques Observe live foaling Handle broodmares and their babies Assist in the handling and care of our stallions we stand in-house during the breeding season If you have previous work experience, strong horse handling skills, or are looking to further your skillsets in a clinical setting and consider yourself a motivated, team player—Don't wait to apply! Specifics:

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 1 year of relative work experience or consistent horse related experience Stallion, mare and foal handling experience will be considered an advantage Adhere to daily workflow Must able to follow written and verbal instructions Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Capable of the physical demands of this position including and not limited to; lift, push, pull, items weighing 50+ lbs (bags of grain, hay bales, wheel barrows, and veterinary equipment), walk, jog, stand on unstable grounds or rough terrain, while working in inclement weather conditions
Note:
This job will require working in various weather conditions and involves regular exposure to dust, dirt, and allergens.
