Lake County School District is looking for a qualified individual to be a part of the Lakeview Special Education Team. This position will serve as 7-12 Special Education teacher including, prescription and delivery of instruction for students with a variety of disabilities eligible under IDEA, collaborating with a team of Special Education teachers and regular education teachers to provide consultation and inclusion support for students in regular education classes, provide intervention instruction and behavioral supports as appropriate and case management of paperwork by facilitating IEP and parent meetings. The Special Education teacher works under the supervision of the Special Education Director.QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Candidate must hold, or be able to attain, an Oregon Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement and authorization; Background in SEL, conflict resolution and technology are desired Ability to work collaboratively with general education teachers.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Develops an Individualized Educational Program (IEP) in basic academic skills and appropriate social behavior to ensure specific skill development. Conducts annual parent/teacher conference to revise IEP. Collects data from systematic observations of the classroom setting. Plans and collaborates with Instructional Assistant(s) Participates in multi-disciplinary staffing meetings as necessary. Provides an appropriate positive learning environment which will enable students to reach their full potential. Facilitates positive interaction among students, staff and parents. Assists parents in understanding their child's potential for success. Records and analyzes continuous assessment data showing student progress. Provides information to assist in the purchasing of appropriate materials. Fulfills other related duties as assigned or assumed.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of course work satisfying the requirement for issuance of a valid Oregon Teaching License with Special Education endorsement. Demonstrated ability to support and maintain school and district policies and to successfully plan and complete assigned responsibilities within identified resources and timelines. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and appropriately in speech and in writing in accord with educational standards. Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team setting with school staff.
