Job Description

Make a difference in the lives of elementary students by providing essential support as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic school environment near Sandy, OR. This contract opportunity allows you to bring your expertise to an inclusive setting, working full-time with approximately 32 students with a range of mild to moderate disabilities. You'll have the chance to collaborate with fellow educators and paraprofessionals, helping to shape individualized education plans and ensure each child receives the personalized attention they need.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Oregon Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement Experience working with elementary-aged children, particularly those with mild to moderate disabilities Strong communication and collaboration skills for partnering with staff, students, and families Ability to adapt instructional techniques to meet the unique needs of each student Enthusiasm and commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging classroom environment
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction and support to students, both in inclusive and dedicated settings Prepare and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines Work closely with support staff, including paraprofessionals, to maximize student success Maintain progress records, communicate regularly with parents and team members, and participate in IEP meetings Create a welcoming, structured, and positive classroom atmosphere tailored to diverse learners Perks of the
