Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by providing support as a Special Education Teacher. In this contract position, your expertise and innovative approach will foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment for children requiring specialized instruction. This opportunity places you at the forefront of empowering learners and collaborating with a supportive educational team.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Special Education. Proven experience working with students who have diverse learning needs. Strong understanding of IEP development and progress monitoring. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet individual learning goals. Commitment to nurturing positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's strengths and needs. Modify curriculum and instructional techniques to accommodate varying abilities. Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and parents/guardians to ensure comprehensive support. Monitor student progress and document performance. Provide direct instruction in both group and one-on-one settings. Foster a safe and encouraging classroom atmosphere that promotes independence and growth. Participate in school meetings, professional development, and case conferences as needed.
