Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make a lasting impact on students' lives by supporting those with visual impairments in their educational journey. This contract opportunity allows you to work in an environment dedicated to inclusion and empowerment, helping students develop critical skills for academic and personal growth.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired Experience working in educational settings, preferably with K-12 students In-depth understanding of adaptive technology and Braille instruction Strong communication skills for collaborating with educators, staff, and families Ability to develop and tailor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for visually impaired students Compassion, patience, and creativity in addressing diverse learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting materials and lessons as necessary Conduct assessments to determine students' specific needs and progress Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to create accessible learning environments Train and support staff and families in the use of assistive devices and techniques Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to educational planning Encourage student independence, self-advocacy, and confidence in the classroom and beyond This contract role offers you the chance to work closely with educational teams to ensure every student receives the individualized support they deserve.
