Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced Special Education Teacher with bilingual (Spanish/English) skills to support a medically fragile, bed-bound middle school student in the Haverford, Pennsylvania area. This contract position is critical in providing impactful instruction and advocacy for a student who requires personalized, consistent, and compassionate educational services. The role focuses on fostering academic growth while adapting instruction to each unique need.
Key Qualifications:
Certified Special Education Teacher (required) Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred; non-bilingual candidates are also encouraged to apply, as interpretation support may be provided Experience working with medically fragile or bed-bound students highly desirable Strong communication and collaboration abilities Dedication to providing continuous, year-round support Ability to build positive relationships with families where English is not the primary language
Core Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized educational programs, tailored to the student's needs Deliver focused, engaging instruction onsite for 2.5 hours each week (further hours may become available over time) Collaborate closely with OT, SLP, and PT professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team Track student progress and provide consistent updates to parents and the support team Adapt techniques, materials, and strategies to the student's abilities and circumstances Serve as a reliable, caring advocate for both the student and family throughout the school year This long-term position allows you to make a meaningful, lasting impact.
