Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-12 students during Extended School Year (ESY) programming from July 6th, 2026 to August 6th, 2026. This position is based near Lansdale, PA, with consistent hours Monday through Thursday, 8am-2:15pm EST (25 hours per week). You'll work with a diverse population, primarily students with blindness or visual impairments, and some with additional needs, such as autism and behavior disorders.
Key Qualifications:
Current, valid Pennsylvania Teacher Certification (no emergency certificates accepted) Demonstrated experience teaching in special education, with a preference for background in visual impairment/blindness settings Strong preference for CPR/First Aid certification (training provided prior to the start if needed) Knowledge of differentiated instruction methods and experience implementing IEPs Excellent communication skills, adaptability, and collaborative spirit
Responsibilities Include:
Delivering tailored instruction to K-12 students with varying abilities and complex needs Creating and maintaining a safe, supportive classroom environment conducive to learning Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) Collaborating with program coordinators, related service staff, and families for optimal student outcomes Monitoring progress and documenting student achievements and challenges Supporting positive classroom management and addressing behavioral needs with sensitivity and consistency Compensation for this opportunity ranges from $37-$52 per hour, reflecting your expertise and commitment.
