Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Empower students with diverse learning needs in a dynamic summer program as a Special Education Teacher for the Extended School Year (ESY) session. Serve learners across several supportive school communities in Bucks County, working closely with students who require thoughtful and adaptive instruction during the summer session. Collaborate with colleagues, families, and support professionals to deliver instructional excellence and foster positive educational outcomes.
Key Qualifications:
Active Pennsylvania Special Education Certification (or active Emergency Permit with evidence of program enrollment toward full certification) Experience working with students with moderate to severe needs and behavioral challenges Residence within 35 minutes of designated school site and access to reliable transportation Commitment to attend all assigned ESY dates, teacher set-up/orientation, and maintain punctual attendance Ability to adapt to changing classroom assignments depending on student needs Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
Role Responsibilities:
Plan and implement individualized instruction for students with special needs during ESY Participate in teacher orientation and classroom setup from June 23-25, 2026 (8:30 am-3:00 pm) Deliver ESY instructional programming Monday through Thursday, June 29-July 30, 2026 (student hours: 9:00 am-2:30 pm, teacher hours: 8:30 am-3:00 pm) Foster an engaging, inclusive learning environment Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and needs Collaborate with related service providers and support staff Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to all program policies This opportunity offers the chance to be matched to a school location closest to your home whenever possible, with a caseload assignment that reflects both your experience and student needs.
