A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.
Supplemental Health Care is partnering with a supportive school district seeking compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teachers to join a collaborative Early Intervention team serving children ages 3-5 years old in a Multiple Disabilities Classroom . This is an excellent opportunity to support young learners during critical developmental years while working alongside experienced teaching assistants, therapists, and families. Each classroom is staffed with one teacher and two teaching assistants , creating a supportive environment that promotes student success and professional collaboration.

PM Pay:
$36•39 per hour Early Intervention setting serving students ages 3-5 Multiple Disabilities Classroom Some students may remain in Early Intervention through their kindergarten year and transition after age six Responsibilities Provide specialized instruction aligned with student IEPs Develop, implement, and monitor individualized educational programs Collaborate with teaching assistants and related service providers Maintain compliance with IEP and evaluation timelines Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress Participate in team meetings and professional collaboration activities Create a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment Collaboration & Professional Support Teachers participate in ongoing collaboration opportunities, including: Weekly Child Study Team meetings with teaching assistants and related service providers Monthly All-Staff Meetings Monthly Teacher Professional Learning Community (PLC) Meetings Optional PBIS Leadership Team participation Parent communication is expected at least once per week. Teachers will utilize ClassDojo for family communication and classroom updates. Qualifications Pennsylvania Special Education License/Certification Experience working with students with disabilities Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills Early Intervention experience preferred Experience in a Multiple Disabilities classroom preferred
